The Gallery

Remodelled in the Gothick style in the 1760s and redecorated in 1970, the Gallery contains family portraits.

On display is the portrait of William, the eighth baron, who was given the nickname 'Old Subtlety' and created a viscount in 1624.

There are two marble busts by Rysbrack, one of the architect Inigo Jones and one of poet and dramatist Ben Jonson. They both wrote masques which were performed here.
