9-11 October 1992. The English Civil War Society holds a Civil War weekend at Broughton Castle, commemorating the 350th anniversary of the outbreak of civil war in 1642 - a watershed in determining the way England is now governed, how justice is administered, how people worship and many other aspects of life in Britain.
